The Quad’s Growing Focus on Maritime Security

The Quadrilateral Security Dialogue, or the Quad, an initiative including Japan, Australia, India and the United States, faces challenges in harmonizing its strategic outlook in the Indo-Pacific region, particularly due to India’s reluctance to engage on security matters. Despite this, there is an increasing emphasis on maritime security and monitoring Chinese influence in the region. In the future, the Quad is expected to play a larger role by overcoming the different strategic positions among member states.
